Vandals Hit a Church in Radevormwald

Unknown people entered the church of St. Marien in Radevormwald on June 22nd and disturbed various items, burned church newspapers in the baptismal font, and destroyed the Easter candle, which in addition to its religious symbolism, also had value of 100 euros.
Around 7 pm, the vicar of the church, Michael Weiler, was informed that smoke was coming out of the building. Upon entering the church, he found the baptismal font containing still burning remains of church newspapers, which the perpetrators had taken from the stand at the entrance.
It is not the first time that an attack occurred in this church. On Good Friday, someone destroyed one of the liturgical books with a utility knife.
