Chapel of Santo Stefano Desecrated by Vandals
A small chapel in the hamlet of Montesardo in Alessandria was vandalized by unknown people. They used spray paint to write vulgar and blasphemous phrases and images such as "Fck church, Fck God" and an anarchist symbol. A Mass of Reparation was held.
The Bishop of Ugento, Vito Angiuli, expressed his disappointment for "these continuous acts of vandalism and profanation against places of worship and objects of devotion that arouse dismay in the diocesan community and throughout the territory, because they damage both the faith and devotion of so many people, as well as the religious heritage of the Church, and the historical, cultural and artistic tradition."
