20 Tombs Desecrated in Escalatens
On the 20th of October, the police was informed about the desecration of 20 Tombs in the cemetery of Escalatens. The families of the desecrated tombs were notified. The candles, symbols and flowers were scattered and the tombstones were turned over.
Michel Cornille, the mayor, said: "According to information from my services department, the commune's agents were preparing the alleys of the place for the All Saints' Day celebrations. That's when they noticed that some souvenir plaques had been broken on different burials. We then contacted the gendarmerie directly,"
