Ruins of St. Finian's Church in Esker Vandalized

The historic ruins of the St. Finian's Church in Esker were smeared with black paint on September 13th. The structure is of great local significance and had recently undergone restoration work when the defacement occurred. The Councilor considered this act of vandalism a direct insult to the religious sight and those working there.
Local Sinn Fein councilor Derren Ó Brádaigh said: "This is an insult and a criminal assault on that combined effort," and “We are all guardians of our local heritage and as such, I would urge everyone to report any incidences of trespassing, anti-social and criminal behaviour within our communities. “
