Christian Buildings in Bratislava Tagged with Insults
On August 5th, churches and monasteries in the historic city center of Bratislava, were tagged with insults written in red such as “God is Trans”, “Queer revolution is coming”, “and “Queer power." The cost of the damage was considerable and the religious community was very affected. The camera system that is in place was used to try and identify who committed the act.
József Hal’ko, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bratislava, lamented: “This is unacceptable. On the one hand, it caused great damage and huge costs... At the same time, the church remains a church, so even if someone tries to humiliate it, through the sacrament Jesus Christ is waiting for the perpetrator to repent. The police are searching for the perpetrators, and we must find them because those who caused this purposefully defiled our church and monasteries."
