Thugs who vandalised seven churches caught

The thugs who vandalised six churches in Ile-de-France and another in Grenoble in January 2022 have been charged by a French court. The defendants had stolen money from churches and even consecrated hosts.
The Saint-Germain church in Vitry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne) was thus desecrated in early January 2022. Beyond the material damage and stolen money, Father Joseph Lokendandjala, parish priest, had particularly apologized to Aleteia for the theft of hosts. "This is the most serious thing, it is the real presence of Christ, the Eucharist that makes us live, which has been stolen!" he had confided. In Seine-Saint-Denis, three churches (Gournay, Bondy and Romainville) had also been vandalized. A wave of desecrations that had caused a trip to Seine-Saint-Denis of Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior and Worship, in order to support the faithful.
