Man Broke into 26 Churches in Austria
A man who broke into 26 churches in Austria has been tracked down in Hungary. The man is said to have broken doors and windows of churches. He also broke into sacristies and sacrificial boxes to steal cash.
The churches that he attacked in Burgenland were in the districts of Eisenstadt, Neusiedl, Oberpullendorf, and Oberwart between June and September. In Styria, the churches were in the Hartberg-Fürstenfield district. DNA from the scenes, video footage, and witness interviews helped the police locate this perpetrator. The 43-year-old man was traced down in Hungary after breaking into a church there and arrested in September.
