Arson attack on Church in Colle Cannuccio

On July 4, the door of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Colle Cannuccio, Italy, was splattered with gasoline and lit on fire. Luckily, the fire did not spread and only the door was damaged as a result. Blasphemous writings and swear words were also painted on the parking lot. 

The Police have started an investigation.

The parish priest, Don Angelo Oddi, announced that a mass of reparation will be celebrated due to the desecration. "Our community, even in the face of such unpleasant episodes, finds strength and is united in faith and prayer, always keeping its heart and mind open to forgiveness," he said.

Update, July 7:

According to the police, the perpetrators were two men from Frosinone aged between 30 and 50, both with criminal records, who were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the criminal act and claimed that they had "no specific purpose" for the arson attack.
