Church of Ladornac desecrated

On October 17, the Notre-Dame Church of Ladornac in Dordogne was desecrated. The altar stone and statues were broken.

The act of vandalism is suspected to have happened during the daily opening hours of the church. According to the mayor of Ladornac, Jean-Pierre Verdier, "two statues were broken, including one of Jeanne d’Arc as well as a symbolic stone which was on the altar and a vase." Furthermore, a painting was damaged.

The mayor furthermore said that the incident has “moved the whole town” and that the church will remain closed during the day to avoid further vandalism.
