Damaged of Memorial lamp at the church in Delbrück-Westenholz
Between June 28 and July 16, unknown persons destroyed the window of the memorial lamp for the dead in the shadow of the church tower of St Joseph in Delbrück-Westenholz. The parish assumes the destruction was willful and has filed a complaint with the police. This is not the first incident.
''This probably happened on Monday or Tuesday. However, we haven't found the object that caused the hole with the radial cracks,'' says Stefan Sudhoff from the church council.
According to the article, the parish assumes that the perpetrator or perpetrators have been to the property at Westenholzer Straße 97 on several occasions. They left their traces in the church and spilt wax from the candles in front of the Pieta in the tower chapel onto the floor and the candlesticks. "We are shocked by the disrespect shown by the village. We ask the residents of Westenholz to be vigilant and to report any conspicuous incidents in and around the church to the Delbrück parish office or to members of our church council as soon as possible".
