Physical attack on an altar boy
On 2 January 2023, in Witkowo, a man verbally and physically attacked one of the altar boys accompanying the priest during a pastoral visit.
The altar boys - a 15-year-old and a 9-year-old - knocked on the doors of parishioners to ask if they would accept the priest's Christmas carol visit. The door was opened by a man who reacted aggressively to the question about the priest's visit. He is said to have insulted the altar boys by using vulgar language.
When the boys knocked on the man's door again, the aggressor grabbed the younger altar boy by the neck and pushed him against the wall, while shouting vulgarities at the boy. The nine-year-old fled upstairs in terror.
The police were called to the scene. According to local news channels, the aggressive man apologised and no complaint was filed.
