Chapel at Gdansk´s Airport Vandalised

On February 15, 2023, a 27 year-old man committed an act of vandalism in the chapel located on the premises of the Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport. The perpetrator overturned and damaged the furnishings of the chapel and tore pages from the Bible.

The man's actions damaged, among other things, the papal chair, a roll with a picture of John Paul II, a wooden altar, a pamphlet stand and a wooden floor. The damage was estimated at PLN 35,000, or more than €8,000. 

The perpetrator was identified as a 27-year-old citizen of Belarus. He was drunk at the time of the crime.
