Vandals smash 25 windows at church

25 windows of St John's Church in Salzhausen were damaged by vandals at the beginning of January. Unknown persons had smashed the windows with fist-sized rocks and caused damage of 42,000 euros.
The stained glass windows depict the birth and baptism of Christ and the Good Shepherd. The colourful works are part of a renowned art-historical collection of stained glass created by Crodel in the 1950s and 1960s. Thanks to donations from the community, the 25 damaged windows have been restored to their former glory.
