Destruction of the shrine of Mary
On the night of 26 to 27 November 2023, unknown perpetrators vandalised the shrine of Mary in Postoliska, Poland. The vandals destroyed the entire body of the statue of Mary, leaving only the base.
After searching the area near the shrine, no fragments of the statue were found anywhere. The residents of Postoliska are shocked.
"We talk a lot about tolerance and respect, only to us believers there is no respect. These are actions that are part of the narrative that is trying to be promoted in contemporary Poland", said Fr Dr Waldemar Sierpiński, parish priest of St Stanislaus in Postoliska.
