Man sets bible on fire and damages cross
As reported on April 23, a man caused extensive damage of 20.000€ to a church in Stockach (Constance district) in April 2023. He damaged a statue, books and stole plates.
The man sawed off the foot of a two-metre tall wooden figure of Christ hanging on a cross. He also set fire to the altar book and an altar bible in the Protestant church and stole several number plates from the hymn display board. The perpetrator fled when the sacristan entered the church. According to the police, the damage is estimated at around 20,000 euros.
