Sainte Matron Orthodox Church set on Fire

On April 13, 3 days before the Orthodox Easter, the Orthodox Church of St. Matrona, in the village of Gouta Mezhigorskaya near Kiev, was set on fire.

The incident happened in the context of tensions between the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is attached to the Moscow Patriarchate, and the independent Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is recognised by the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
