Priest physically attacked and insulted at gas station

An individual claiming to be proud of being the ‘son of a Fellagha’ [Algerian independence fighter] violently assaulted Father Jean Paul Argouarc'h, from Riaumont, because of his ecclesiastical habit, calling him a ‘dirty priest’ at a gas station between Arras and Lens.
He also hit him hard on the left arm. The altercation took place in a queue at a petrol station - as a result of an ongoing strike by Total and Esso refinery workers, three quarters of the country is facing fuel shortages, particularly acute in the Nord and Ile de France regions. Father Argouarc'h had a medical report drawn up and filed a complaint at the nearest police station.
