Statue beheaded and replaced with Nazi photos
On 27 September, in Witaszyce, an unknown person cut off the head of the statue of Mary in a forest shrine. On October 12, five photos of the faces of Nazi soldiers were placed inside the shrine.
"What had to go wrong in a man's head for him to commit such an act?", says a shaken resident of Witaszyc.
Similar events have happened in Jarocin district in the past. 10 years ago, the Sacred Heart of Jesus chapel in Łobza was vandalised. The vandals destroyed the decoration of the statue, smashed the vases and tore the ribbons. At the time, no one filed an official report with the police.
