Repeated vandalism: Marian statue desecrated in Mrągowo

The desecration of the parish of St Raphael Kalinowski in Mrągowo took place on the night of 25-26 December. An unknown perpetrator entered the church premises and destroyed the statue of Mary in the church chapel. The situation was recorded by the parish camera.
The man entered the church grounds, approached the church and kicked the main door. Then he headed for the exit, but after a moment he turned around, knelt down, got up and walked towards the statue of the Virgin Mary. He probably threw a plastic flowerpot at it, causing the statue to fall and break into pieces," said Deputy Commissioner Paulina Karo.
This is only the latest case in a series of desecrations. On 20 December, bandits destroyed the Holy Cross in the sanctuary of St John Paul II in Krosno. They also destroyed the entrance doors to the sanctuary.
A week later, in Gdansk, a wooden cross was set on fire in Góralska Street in Niedźwiednik (OIDAC reported). During the incident, the wooden cross was burnt and the painting of the Virgin Mary hanging on it was blackened.
