Nativity scene in Bernay church defaced with atheist inscription
During the Christmas holidays, unknown vandals defaced a crib in the church of Sainte-Croix in Bernay with an atheist inscription. The parish has already reacted and called for a spirit of dialogue.
After the vandalised nativity scene was found to bear inscriptions denying the existence of God, the parish priest, Father Clément Ondoua, although initially "disappointed and embarrassed" by the attack, has now responded by inviting the author to a peaceful dialogue: "Like Chirst, we are here to seek peace. We don't want to fight, there is no violence on our side!"
