Religious Statue vandalised

Unknown vandals desecrated a Marian shrine in the hamlet of Salvandine in Serle, northern Italy. A citizen found the statue of Mary shattered and broken in two, likely after being struck with stones.
Images shared online of the damaged statue have caused shock and sadness in the community. A Facebook post condemned the act as 'despicable and sacrilegious' and urged anyone with information to come forward.
The incident has been reported to the Carabinieri, although identifying the perpetrators will be difficult due to the lack of surveillance in the area. While some locals speculate that it may have been a misguided prank, the deliberate nature of the damage suggests deliberate desecration. This attack adds to a worrying pattern of hostility towards Christian symbols in recent months.
