Vandalism at the “Diálogo” Library in Madrid

The Diálogo library in Madrid suffered serious damage as an unidentified pertpetrators smashed the window in which books related to the beatification of Pope Juan Pablo II were displayed. The library is well-known for specializing in religious subjects.

According to one of the owners of the library, Maria José Fuente Clemente, the intruders "did not take anything, which indicates that the motive was not mere rob.". Furthermore, this attack is not the first of its kind in the area. In a previous incident, the library’s crystal was covered with spit. Freedom of religion activist, Miguel Vidal, member of the organisation Maslibras, says: “We do not ask for more privileges than other faiths. We ask for the protection of our right to express and practice our religion without being attacked.”.
