Decapitation of Marian Statue in Sumène

Unknown perpetrators decapitated a Marian Statue in Sumène on June 23rd. The attack was allegedly made with a stone that was found next to the statue along with the cut off head. The mayor of the city, Ghislain Pallier, already filled a complaint.

This statue had been erected in 1950 as protection for travellers "between the Departmental road 999 leading to Le Vigan and the Departmental road 986 leading up to Aigoual". Ghislain Pallier, Mayor of Sumène, filed a complaint on June 24th. The residents of the city are shocked.
