Cross of 7th Century Church of Vankasar Removed
The cross of the 7th Century Vankasar Church has been found removed on pictures circulating online.
Vankasar Church is a world-renowned historical and cultural monument in the Artsakh region, currently occupied by Azerbaijan. Recent images circulating online have seen that the cross has been removed from the 7th century church. In the past, Armenian inscriptions on the church have been removed by Azerbaijan. The church has also become target of a projectile during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War.
