Statue of Jesus Vandalised
A man entered Majella Church in Utrecht and deliberately knocked over a statue of Jesus, breaking its arm. A local monk confirmed that the incident was not an isolated attack but rather part of a broader pattern targeting the church.
At Majella Church in Utrecht, a man entered the building during morning hours and deliberately knocked over a one-meter-tall statue of Jesus Christ, breaking its arm. Witnesses described the individual as wearing a hood and covering his mouth, and noted that he remained silent throughout the incident before leaving the premises.
Brother Ignatius stated, “It is a beloved image,” and acknowledged the possibility of a targeted act against Christianity, citing previous disturbances including altar vandalism and nuisance from addicts.
Although camera footage exists, Brother Ignatius expressed skepticism about the usefulness of filing a police report, saying, “We did share it in the neighborhood app”.
