Pastor David Grüntjens reported the incident during an interview with Welle Niederrhein, stating, “We were really lucky that no layers of paint came off.” The church, located in Krefeld’s city center, had previously been targeted with wall damage and interior defacement.
The German Bishops' Conference confirmed a rise in church vandalism, noting that “all taboos have now fallen here” and describing the situation as an “intensified dimension.”
