Image Depicting Burning Church Shared Online with Calls Against Christians in Vienna
In October 2024, an image depicting a church in Vienna in flames was circulated online alongside hostile messaging targeting Christians. The content forms part of a broader pattern of intimidation surrounding a pro-life event.
The incident was reported in October 2024 and concerns a graphic titled “CALL TO ACTION!” distributed via a radical-left online channel. The image shows the Karlskirche engulfed in flames, accompanied by the slogan “Den Fundis die Hölle heiß machen!” (“Make hell hot for the fundamentalists”).
The use of the term “Fundis” in this context serves as a pejorative label referring to devout Christians. The visual depiction of a church in flames suggests symbolic destruction of a Christian place of worship. The online "Call to action" had also been accopanied by acts of vandalism on local churches.
According to reports, the image circulated in the context of the Christian pro-life event “March for Life” in Vienna and was documented as part of a series of anti-Christian incidents.
