Cross Vandalized on Rzędowa Rock
Unknown individuals defaced a prominent Christian cross in Zawiercie-Bzów, severing its upper arm and painting it black, prompting a police investigation.
On April 18, 2025, unidentified individuals vandalized a Christian cross located on Skała Rzędowa, a 454-meter-high rock formation in Zawiercie-Bzów, Poland. The perpetrators climbed the rock to sever the cross’s upper arm and paint it black. The incident was reported by TVP3 Katowice and confirmed by the local Facebook page. Police opened an investigation under statutes concerning property damage and offense to religious feelings, which carry penalties of up to five and two years of imprisonment respectively. Authorities had not identified suspects or motives at the time of reporting.
