On the afternoon of 6 July 2025, two adolescents attempted to set fire to the Marienfloss Chapel in Sierck‑les‑Bains. The attempt was unsuccessful and caused only minor damage to the structure.
The individuals were later identified by local authorities and admitted to committing the act. The custodian of the chapel chose not to lodge a formal complaint. Instead, the youths were required to make reparation for the damage caused.
