Attack on Holy Week Procession in Toledo
A religious procession during Holy Week in Toledo was disrupted when a man lunged at the individual carrying the processional cross, displacing it.
On 12 April 2025, a man was arrested in Toledo after advancing toward the head of a Holy Week procession and lunging at the individual carrying the processional cross, displacing it.
The incident took place near the Puerta Llana of Toledo Cathedral during a moment of particular solemnity, as the image of Cristo Nazareno Cautivo approached the entrance.
Despite warnings from police officers, the individual continued his approach before being stopped and detained by the police. No injuries were reported, and the procession was able to continue without further disruption.
