20 Bomb Threat Calls Targeting Cordoba Cathedral

A man was arrested in connection with a series of bomb threat calls to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Córdoba, Spain.

On 12 August, Spanish National Police arrested a man in Palencia after he allegedly made up to 20 phone calls threatening to place an explosive device at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, also known as Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba.

The repeated threats prompted the deployment of multiple police units to assess the credibility of the danger and secure the site and public safety.

The incident has been classified as public disorder and hate.
