Desecration, theft and alleged harassment at Chapel of Hospital del Henares in Spain.
A chapel at Hospital del Henares in Spain has been repeatedly targeted by theft and desecration, with reports of ongoing harassment following the initial incident.
A serious incident of desecration and theft was reported at the chapel of Hospital del Henares in Spain on 23 October, when the tabernacle was broken into and its contents stolen.
According to the report, the individual responsible was identified but not detained, receiving only a minor penalty. Following the initial act, the situation escalated, with claims that those linked to the incident continued to pressure and harass members of the community, allegedly attempting to extort money in relation to the stolen contents.
The case does not appear to be isolated. Further incidents have been reported at the same location, including additional thefts. Referring to a subsequent incident, Father Eliseo stated on social media that the same group had returned to steal approximately €600 from the donation box, expressing frustration that no effective consequences followed and criticising what he perceived as a lack of accountability for repeated offences.
