Religious Icon Stolen from Behind Altar
An icon was stolen from behind the altar of a church in Waiblingen, affecting an object of devotional significance within the church.
As reported on 28 January 2025, the theft occurred between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning at the Michaelskirche, located on Alter Postplatz. Unknown perpetrators removed an icon that had been placed behind the altar. The stolen item, a depiction of a saint, is estimated to have a value of around 500 euros.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses.
