DONE JH: desecration of our monastery quarter
Nazi symbols were sprayed in the vicinity of a church in Bad Herrenalb, and a church-affiliated youth bus was also vandalised. The incidents form part of an ongoing series affecting the church environment.
The incidents occurred during the night of 2–3 March 2025 in the Klosterviertel of Bad Herrenalb, where walls were defaced with graffiti, including Nazi-related symbols such as a swastika and numerical codes. The markings were placed in close proximity to the church. In addition, a youth bus belonging to the church community was damaged as part of the same series of incidents.
Parish priest Robert Mađarić Beer expressed concern, stating: “This desecration of our monastery district must finally come to an end!” He also referred to the continuation of the vandalism affecting the area. Police have opened an investigation and are examining the symbols used, while appealing for witnesses.
