The incident occurred on 30 March 2025 at the Church of Notre-Dame de la Fosse, where unknown perpetrators removed two reliquary busts representing saints. These objects are associated with the veneration of saints and form part of the church’s religious and cultural heritage.

The theft follows a previous incident one month earlier, during which two similar statues were also taken from the same church, indicating repeated targeting of religious artefacts. A parish volunteer described the situation as an “ignoble act both in religious and heritage terms,” reflecting the impact on the local community.
