Religious Statue Targeted
A statue of the Virgin Mary was deliberately knocked over in Pruszcz Gdański, in an act described as desecration. The incident targeted a religious figure of central importance to Catholic devotion.
The incident occurred during the night of 14–15 April 2025 at the parish of Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, on a Marian hill associated with the parish. According to reports, a man approached the statue of the Virgin Mary, intentionally pushed it over, and fled the scene shortly afterwards.
The act was captured on surveillance footage, showing the perpetrator climbing the steps and deliberately overturning the statue. The parish priest reported the incident to the police and appealed to the public for help in identifying the individual.
