Swastika Carved into Church Door in Coburg
A church in Coburg was vandalised with two swastikas and the neo-Nazi code "88" carved into its entrance door.
The incident occurred between 7 and 8 April 2025 at the Johanneskirche, where unknown perpetrators scratched a swastika into the copper entrance door. A display case belonging to the parish was also damaged.
Police have opened an investigation for property damage and the use of symbols of unconstitutional organisations. The damage is estimated at approximately €50.
The parish emphasised its commitment to interreligious dialogue and social cohesion, including recent joint activities with the local Muslim community.
