Swastika Graffiti Defaces Church in Altmannstein
A church in Altmannstein was vandalised with a swastika, indicating an ideologically charged act targeting a place of worship.
The incident occurred between the afternoon of 3 June and midday of 5 June 2025, when an unknown perpetrator painted a swastika in black on the façade of a church in Altmannstein.
Local police have since opened an investigation, with the Eichstätt criminal police (Kriminalpolizei) involved, as it falls under the jurisdiction of hate-symbol offenses under German law. The swastika’s placement on a sacred Christian building is leading authorities to treat it as both vandalism and a politically significant hate incident.
